DISCUSSING 3 MAKERS WE LOVE

Reminiscing today on the past two years - in February we will officially turn 2. This weekend we bring together market number 17. That seems like an awfully big number as I reflect on each market, each maker who has showcased and the ties that have been formed.

We have evolved into a beautiful family of makers, some of whom not only regularly showcase at our flagship market but also travel with me to participate in our pop up events, some of which I host but also as guests at external events we are invited to.

Today I wanted to share with you some of these makers, who have stolen my heart and yours.

Helen McDowall of Helen McDowall Design. On first meeting Helen, she strolled into the hall, her nature cheery, her attire, colourful and stylish. I was excited to meet her and get her going with setting up her first stall at Handmade Redcliffe!

Helen and I share the same vision, which is, to bring beautiful handmade things together for people to enjoy - in a stylish, ethical, best in handmade kind of way.

This Saturday Helen will spread her wings into a larger space and like a beautiful, bright coloured bird moving across the skies, you won't miss her happy, brightly coloured corner filled with clutches, necklaces, fabric covers, bracelets & more. Helen also delights in taking custom orders, so if you have something in mind do ask her.

Louise Forde of Berry Good Jam & Chutney is one of our 'heritage makers', with us from market #1. I first met Louise at a pre-market styling shoot we did for the Redcliffe & Bayside Herald.

Louise is a real lady with a big heart for her creative jam and chutney business.

After being spurred on by family and friends to take her craft further, her market life was launched! Louise has forged a cult following at our market and well it just wouldn't be the same without her sweet service and equally sweet jams.

Louise's Rosella Jam is popular - just like the one your Mum use to make!

Stop by the hall this Saturday to meet the lovely Louise and try a sample of one of her classic or limited edition jams and chutneys.

Phillippa Trevarthen of Pip's Promise. Pip excitedly called me, introduced herself and asked if I had a spot available for her to attend our market. I knew when I spoke to her that something special was about to happen.

Meeting Pip is like having a magic wand waved over you, you're instantly charmed, put under a spell and eager to learn more about her decadent goods.

Pip makes herbal bath bombs in stylish square designs decorated with rose petals, lavender, orange peel and cinnamon sticks. She also makes hot chocolate dipping sticks, which have become a must have take home item! Pip's favourite is the orange choc, which she has firmly convinced me is the best!

You will find Pip's Promise inside the hall next to Heidi at Bliss Candles.
