In my new role as ambassador for tickle the imagination magazine I have a special offer to share with my readers.

Subscribe to tickle the imagination magazine mention Love Handmade in the notes and you will receive a beautiful 3 words necklace to inspire you on your creative journey. Three wooden triangles dangle from the brass chain, each with a word: dream, create, inspire {the driving words behind this beautiful publication}.

The word creative means to create - a simple but powerful definition I remember hearing from one of my uni lecturers that has stuck with me. The very act of creating is creative and something that is almost a primal instinct we all share.

As curator of Love Handmade events, my primary role is to champion this cause by providing a home to makers to showcase and share their creations and by doing so, fuel imagination and that fundamental desire to do something useful. I am so proud to be partnering with a magazine that supports Australian handmade and to be a part of the bigger mission to support our country's makers.

COFFEE COOL TO HIT HANDMADE REDCLIFFE THIS NOVEMBER

26/10/2014

We've brought you some of the coolest food trucks in town and now it's time to bring in the big coffee guns too.

Half Lever Espresso - Coffee Van is about to hit Handmade Redcliffe as our new {& we hope, long standing} coffee provider.

Reading over owner, Tim Pea's story via halflever.com, you quickly get the strong feeling that this man cares about coffee and people. He is serious about delivering the best cuppa Joe in town with the best darn smile he can muster. Right there, this man has already won my heart.

To me, service is {almost} everything.

His cute vehicle is powered by gas and battery, eliminating the need to hook up to electricity, which makes for an easy pop up setup and low environmental impact.

I love his philosophy - delivering taste-bud-humming-coffee without the snobbery. I get that.

Be sure to support Half Lever as they debut right out the front of Handmade Redcliffe THIS SATURDAY 1 November 2014 from 11.00am!

Here is a little clip from Tim...

DISCUSSING 3 MAKERS WE LOVE

Reminiscing today on the past two years - in February we will officially turn 2. This weekend we bring together market number 17. That seems like an awfully big number as I reflect on each market, each maker who has showcased and the ties that have been formed.

We have evolved into a beautiful family of makers, some of whom not only regularly showcase at our flagship market but also travel with me to participate in our pop up events, some of which I host but also as guests at external events we are invited to.

Today I wanted to share with you some of these makers, who have stolen my heart and yours.

Helen McDowall of Helen McDowall Design. On first meeting Helen, she strolled into the hall, her nature cheery, her attire, colourful and stylish. I was excited to meet her and get her going with setting up her first stall at Handmade Redcliffe!

Helen and I share the same vision, which is, to bring beautiful handmade things together for people to enjoy - in a stylish, ethical, best in handmade kind of way.

This Saturday Helen will spread her wings into a larger space and like a beautiful, bright coloured bird moving across the skies, you won't miss her happy, brightly coloured corner filled with clutches, necklaces, fabric covers, bracelets & more. Helen also delights in taking custom orders, so if you have something in mind do ask her.

Louise Forde of Berry Good Jam & Chutney is one of our 'heritage makers', with us from market #1. I first met Louise at a pre-market styling shoot we did for the Redcliffe & Bayside Herald.

Louise is a real lady with a big heart for her creative jam and chutney business.

After being spurred on by family and friends to take her craft further, her market life was launched! Louise has forged a cult following at our market and well it just wouldn't be the same without her sweet service and equally sweet jams.

Louise's Rosella Jam is popular - just like the one your Mum use to make!

Stop by the hall this Saturday to meet the lovely Louise and try a sample of one of her classic or limited edition jams and chutneys.

Phillippa Trevarthen of Pip's Promise. Pip excitedly called me, introduced herself and asked if I had a spot available for her to attend our market. I knew when I spoke to her that something special was about to happen.

Meeting Pip is like having a magic wand waved over you, you're instantly charmed, put under a spell and eager to learn more about her decadent goods.

Pip makes herbal bath bombs in stylish square designs decorated with rose petals, lavender, orange peel and cinnamon sticks. She also makes hot chocolate dipping sticks, which have become a must have take home item! Pip's favourite is the orange choc, which she has firmly convinced me is the best!

You will find Pip's Promise inside the hall next to Heidi at Bliss Candles.

We look forward to welcoming you this Saturday
and showing you why our visitors love coming back month after month.

Thank you so much for supporting our makers and making our dreams come true for a handmade market in Redcliffe!

We are exclusively now an indoor/undercover market at our home in Margate. Find us at the Humpybong State School Hall 11.00am to 4.00pm.
